A Saturday List
This day has been a long time coming! The intense anticipation has been building for over a month in the minds of my children. My mind, however, has been brimming with my to-do list:
Start at the gym
Start at the gym
Pick up the birthday cake
Watch Madison's basketball game
Off to jump for Madison's birthday party
Naps for Max and Elise
Attend Madison's final acting class performance
Gather and eat
Max bedtime
Madison and Elise bedtime
Sit down and dream of a peaceful Sunday
...and don't forget to write your Slice of Life somewhere in there. The way you organize the lines across the page gave the sense of constant movement, the feeling that it is a little of out of our control, one must just keep pressing forward. To return to the margin for the last line was a complete relief.
ReplyDeleteWhat a busy Saturday! I hope your Sunday is peaceful. I loved Alex's post above, pointing out your writing moves.
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed how you structured your poem on the page. The final return to the left margin was inspired. Nice slice! I hope you all enjoyed the birthday celebration!
ReplyDeleteI'm tired after reading your post and wish you a very sit-down Sunday!
